Position Summary

The University Libraries at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a Humanities Research and Digital Instruction Librarian to support humanities research, teaching, and learning at Carolina.
The Humanities Research and Digital Instruction Librarian will join a collaborative and service-oriented Research and Instructional Services Department that supports teaching, learning, and research in the humanities, social sciences, and the arts.

Educational Requirements

Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program in library or information science, or a related advanced degree.

Qualifications and Experience

REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program in library or information science, or a related advanced degree
Strong background in the humanities and humanities information sources.
Up-to-date knowledge of digital scholarship tools and trends.
At least two years of relevant work experience.
Experience with classroom teaching, training, or library instruction.
Experience using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to excel in a dynamic, collaborative, team-based environment.
Strong commitment to user-centered services.

PREFERRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience applying Digital Humanities tools and methodologies with students and faculty.
Advanced degree in a humanities discipline.
Coursework or experience working with scholars in one or more of the following subject areas: American Studies, Religious Studies, Classics, Literature, Philosophy, History.
