Position Summary

Theatre Specialist in Sound Technology provides: -sound equipment and support for all PRC shows and for all PRC and DDA special events. —Schedules and supervises student sound crews. -Guest lecturer for sound course sections of other instructors. -Set up and strike of sound equipment for 7 PRC mainstage shows and 3 PRC2 shows. -Attend production and staff meetings. -Coordinate rental of Paul Green Theatre and Kenan Theatre equipment and to other groups -Maintain and repair sound equipment in Paul Green Theatre and Kenan Theatre. -Provide support and information to student sound designers for Kenan. -Communicate and provide sound support and information to PRC Sound Designers. -Purchase sound equipment for both PRC and DDA according to budget. -Responsible for the budgeting of PRC and DDA sound equipment. -Research and implement capital expenditures for sound system.

Education Requirements

Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required; for candidates demonstrating focus on production or sound technology, will accept a relevant undergraduate degree and three or more years of relevant experience in substitution.

Qualifications and Experience

At least three years’ experience in sound engineering at a professional theatre, concert hall, or comparable space vocation. Prefer experience with Sound Design and instructional experience.
