WUNC Radio provides quality news, information and entertainment programming to a broad listening audience throughout North Carolina, the United States and the world. WUNC serves North Carolinians from Greensboro to the Outer Banks through a network of six stations, with a weekly cume of approximately 400,000 listeners.

Position Description

The Development Associate assists the General Manager (Department Director) and development department. She/He will be responsible for coordinating station events, communications with high profile donors and community leaders, maintenance of schedule for Department Director, making entries in the donor database, printing and distributing database reports, document maintenance, and other organizational tasks.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

The Development Associate must be able to clearly & effectively communicate in written form, as well as verbally. He/She must be an independent thinker and resolve issues (problem solving) without supervision. The Development Associate must have strong Microsoft Office Word, Excel, & PowerPoint skills. Strong customer service skills are essential to this position. Additionally, the Development Associate must be able to manage complex scheduling and calendaring.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred. 5+ years administrative support experience. An understanding and appreciation of the mission of WUNC-FM is highly preferred as is previous experience working in a fundraising organization.
