Position Summary

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a part time Advance Practice Practitioner to work on at the WakeSTEP Community Clinic in Raleigh, North Carolina, part of the UNC Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health. This will be a one year, fixed term appointment. This is an exciting opportunity to be on the forefront of providing care to patients with schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses. Principal responsibilities will include providing medication management and supportive care to patients with serious mental illness. The successful candidates will work side by side with an integrated team of psychiatrists, social workers and nurses, providing evidence based care.

This position is a part time position working 2 days 8 hour days per week.

Education Requirements

Applicants must have completed an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Training Program, have received and maintained certification, and be eligible for North Carolina licensure.

Qualifications and Experience

Prior experience providing mental health care or acute care is required. Prior experience or demonstrated interest in caring for patients with severe mental illness is desired.
