Position Summary

The Department of Philosophy within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is searching for a Director of the Parr Center for Ethics. The Director will be a full member of the Philosophy Department, tenured (Associate or Full Professor) appointment with a teaching load of 1 course per semester, undergraduate and graduate. The Director will also be involved in thesis supervision and have other standard non-teaching duties such as a graduate and undergraduate mentor-ship and participation in the Philosophy Department’s vigorous intellectual life.

Ph.D. in Philosophy

Qualifications and Experience

Must be an accomplished philosopher working in moral theory and practical ethics, and proven administrative skills, a deep commitment to the mission of the Parr Center, and the ability to work collaboratively across schools and disciplines.
