Position Summary

The MEASURE Evaluation Project (www.cpc.unc.edu/measure ) in the Carolina Population Center (www.cpc.unc.edu) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a large international project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) that focuses on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of population, health and nutrition programs and improving health sector decision-making. The Results Monitoring and Evaluation Associate will track, collect, manage and review project level performance monitoring data. General responsibilities of the Results Monitoring and Evaluation Associate includes providing technical leadership and assistance to project partners to develop M&E plans; tracking activities and results; developing information systems for reporting and retrieving results; developing guidance documents and accompanying training materials for results reporting; and assisting the project M&E team to develop additional reports and associated materials, as needed. This position will include participation in other monitoring and evaluation research and technical assistance activities of the project. The Results Monitoring and Evaluation Associate will work under the guidance of and report to the Senior M&E Officer.

Educational Requirements

Master’s Degree in Public Health or related discipline required.

Qualifications and Experience

Basic understanding of M&E principles required. 1-2 years of experience with monitoring and evaluation and demonstrated skills in M&E frameworks, indicator development, indicator tracking, data collection databases and systems development and report writing highly preferred. Experience working with donor agencies, including, but not limited to, USAID. Proven ability to work effectively with both funding agencies and with national and local personnel. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with data management and collation in MS Excel and on-line information management systems. Proven ability to conduct trainings and/or presentations to audiences through webinars and/or in-person meetings. Experience in developing countries preferred. Availability and interest in working in developing countries and ability to travel internationally. Fluency in English, and conversational French, required, another language (e.g. Spanish, Portuguese) preferred.
