Position Summary

UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Major Gifts Officer to join a growing development effort at one of the nation’s premier cancer centers and one of UNC’s largest clinical and research programs. The position will be responsible for cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift prospects for the Cancer Center and the N.C. Cancer Hospital. The position will report to the Senior Executive Director of Development and Communications at UNC Lineberger.

Educational Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree is required, advanced degree preferred.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should have a minimum of five years of fund raising experience with a record of success in personally soliciting major gift and in collaborating with volunteer leadership. The position will have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills. The selected candidate will be a team player who will be able to work all levels with multiple constituencies, both internal and external. Evening and weekend work and statewide travel will be a required part of the position.
