Position Summary

The Research Scientific Administrator will be responsible for managing the research activities in the Center for Nanotechnology in Drug Delivery (CNDD) in the School of Pharmacy including project development and reporting, research and research facilitation, research compliance, publications, presentations, and patents, coordination of students, scientific personnel, and seminar and laboratory management.

Educational Requirements

PhD degree with two or more years doctoral experience in nanomedicine, cancer biology, pharmaceutics or similar field.

Qualifications and Experience

1. 1-4 years of previous research experience in cancer biology therapy or similar field.

2. Demonstrated skills in leadership-ability to lead complex collaborative efforts to achieve desired outcomes; to think strategically and plan; to think critically and creatively.

3. Effective communicator and collaborator-excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate openly, frankly and respectfully and work well with others.

4. Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization including administration, faculty, students, and staff.

5. Demonstrated proficiency in computer and data management skills.

6. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities and activities-can handle multiple ongoing projects with attention to detail and prioritizes activities accordingly to ensure that work gets done in a timely manner.

7. Ability to solve complex problems-resolves complex problems in a timely manner by skillfully gathering and analyzing information.

8. Adaptability-ability to be both versatile and flexible, an openness and willingness to the thoughts and opinions of others and openness to change.

9. Quality improvement-ability to recognize opportunities for improvement in processes and efficiency, create new approaches, and plan accordingly to implement such changes.

10. Experience formulating new ideas and directions, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

11. A desire to learn and a commitment to excellence.
